Emerging Adulthood SIG Update
Emerging Adulthood SIG Update
By Kelly Schloredt, PhD, ABPP
Vice Chair, Emerging Adult SIG
We are now two years into the relaunch of the Emerging Adult (EA) SIG and we look forward to building on our work to date. Last year we focused on building our membership and bringing our members useful resources and offerings, including a symposium at APA 2024 focused on some innovative approaches to meeting the mental health needs of emerging adults.
As we move through 2025, we remain committed to bringing useful resources and offering to our members and in so doing, hope that we will continue to pick up new members along the way. To this end, we are busy at work planning a CE webinar related to the unique ethical challenges that often arise in working with emerging adults, and are hoping to engage in some scholarly writing activities highlighting why emerging adulthood is an important competency area for clinical child and adolescent psychologists and specific programming for this unique population.
If you would like more information about the EA SIG and/or are interested in joining, please visit our webpage. We welcome the participation of all!
