Bilingual Psychologists SIG Update

Bilingual Psychologists SIG Update

By Erika Garcia-Rocha, PsyD
Bilingual Psychologists SIG Co-Chair

The Bilingual Psychologists Special Interest Group has continued to host virtual networking events for our members. Our recent virtual events included discussing the nuances of providing bilingual integrated behavioral health care in pediatric primary care settings. Our first 2025 Bilingual Psychologists SIG virtual networking event focused on the unique challenges and needs of providing bilingual trauma informed treatment.

Our student representative and secretary have also been working on incorporating student-led spaces where psychology graduate students could confidentially discuss bilingual training concerns as psychology trainees. Stay tuned for more student focused virtual networking events!

We also wanted to introduce our current Executive Board for 2025!

  • Co-Chair 1: Erika Garcia-Rocha, PsyD | Pediatric Psychologist, CHCO and CU SOM
  • Listserv Manager: Kelly Banneyer, PhD | Child Psychologist, Texas Children’s Hospital
  • Student Representative: Yoscaira Gomez, M.S Ed | Clinical & School Psychology PsyD
  • Secretary: Anya Keomurjjian, M.A | Clinical Psychology PsyD student
  • Treasurer: Yufan Wang, M.A | Clinical Psychology student

Make sure to check our listerv for more information about upcoming events and Zoom link invites. As always, invite your bilingual colleagues to discuss important issues with bilingual providers across the US!
